The growing challenge of unused raw materials inspired Czech innovators to turn beverage packaging waste into a valuable resource for the construction industry. Through patented technology developed by experts and owned by Flexibau s.r.o., used tetra packs can be now transformed into durable panel materials known as PackWall. Through licencing, these panels are already used worldwide, offering an affordable, eco-friendly alternative to traditional materials like OSB or MDF. With a lower carbon footprint and strong technical performance, PackWall represents a smart solution for sustainable construction, packaging, furniture, and interior design.
How we helped – Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) of product for subsequent Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) We prepared a detailed Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) of Flexibau’s PackWall basic, design and design double panels, evaluating their environmental impact across the entire product lifecycle. This analysis now serves as the foundation for an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), which will be verified and published by an independent third party in the coming weeks.
Outcomes – PackWall’s Next Milestone on the path of sustainability
The Life Cycle Analysis confirmed that PackWall panels offer a significantly lower environmental footprint compared to conventional construction materials such as OSB, MDF, or plasterboard. By quantifying impacts across the entire product lifecycle, the analysis provided Flexibau with transparent data to communicate the clear sustainability advantages of their unique technology. These results now serve as the basis for an upcoming third-party verified Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), which will further strengthen PackWall’s position as an innovative Czech solution and a credible alternative for sustainable construction worldwide.
